Our Message is Clear: End Mandatory Overtime!

Health care professionals from across Pennsylvania are continuing to make their voices heard. In January, over 200 care givers went to Harrisburg and mandated the senate to pass HB 834 and end the practice of forced overtime in the state. They marched into individual senators’ offices and told them how important it was to ban mandatory overtime.

The legislation has still not moved to a vote, so we are taking the campaign to the next step. This is an issue that affects every corner of the commonwealth and we are determined to take up this cause everywhere to protect patient care.

We have purchased billboards throughout the state as a daily reminder of the need to end forced overtime. In addition to the billboards, there are now radio ads airing on many stations, letting people know about the impact on mandatory overtime on families, patients, and caregivers.

It is important to continue putting the senate on notice and pressing them to pass HB 834. They have the tools to make a tremendous change in Pennsylvania on behalf of patients. You have the power to make them act.
